August at the Flower Farm 🌸

Well, what a summer it’s been!

One of the real highlights of the summer was our Snip & Sip afternoon with Ragstone Ridge Vineyard.

Despite all the challenges of this long, hot summer, we were blessed with a lovely, pleasant afternoon — perfect for wandering through the flowers, choosing blooms to snip, enjoying some delicious wine and spending time together.

It was such a successful event, with everyone having lots of fun, and it was wonderful to see people enjoying the flowers in such a relaxed and beautiful setting. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the afternoon so special, and to the team at Ragstone Ridge Vineyard for bringing along their fabulous selection of wines to taste.

We’re already looking forward to creating more lovely collaborations and events in the future! 🌿

It’s been a long, hard and very hot few months, and with our fifth heatwave of the year and limited water, the flower farm has certainly been challenged.

Things became particularly difficult last week when South East Water turned off our water supply for a couple of days. And when the water finally came back on, the pressure was so low that my drip irrigation system stopped working!

But we’ve got through it, and now I’m looking ahead to September — and there is plenty to be excited about.

September is all about dahlias 🌸

September is such a special month at the flower farm. The dahlias should be pumping out beautiful, fresh blooms in an incredible array of colours, shapes and sizes.

So, I’m planning to make dahlias the star of September, with a variety of workshops and opportunities for you to come and enjoy them too.

Whether you’d like to join me for a workshop and learn some floristry skills, create your own arrangement, or simply come and pick your own beautiful bunch of dahlias, there will be lots happening.

All the dates are now up on the website and available to book here.

Come and say hello đź‘‹

I’ll also be taking some of my flowers out and about in September, so if you’re local, please come and find me!

Saturday 12 September🌾 Weald of Kent Ploughing Match, Hengherst Farm, Shadoxhurst Road, Woodchurch, TN26 3PP

I’d love to see some familiar faces, so do come along and say hello.

And suddenly… it’s nearly Christmas! 🎄

I know, I know — we’re still enjoying summer, but I’ve already been asked about Christmas wreath-making sessions, so it seems I’d better start thinking about it!

I’ll be running small, private wreath-making sessions towards the end of November and into early December.

These will be perfect if you’re looking for something lovely to do with a group of friends, whether it’s a pre-Christmas get-together, a girls’ day out or simply an excuse to get together and make something beautiful.

🎄 Groups of 4–6 people

🎄 Minimum group size: 4

🎄 Comfortable group size: 6

🎄 End of November & early December

You’ll create your own Christmas wreath in the relaxed surroundings of my home, with plenty of festive spirit thrown in! More details and dates will be on the website soon.

From heatwaves to dahlias…

After such a challenging summer, I’m really looking forward to September and being able to enjoy the rewards of all the hard work that goes into growing these flowers.

I hope you’ll come and join me — whether that’s for a workshop, a little bit of flower picking, a market visit or simply to say hello.

I can’t wait to share September with you. 🌸
